KOCHI: Actress Swetha Menon said that she will move forward with legal action against the case registered for making financial gains through obscene scenes in films. The actress responded that she will soon approach the Kerala High Court to revoke the case registered against her. She said that there are ulterior motives behind the case at a time when she was about to contest the president’s post of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The information related to the case against the actress came to light yesterday.
The case against the actress was registered by the Ernakulam Central Police. The action was taken following the directions of the Ernakulam CJM court on the complaint filed by Martin Menachery of Thoppumpady. The case is under Section 67 (A) of the IT Act and the Prohibition of Immoral Activities Act. The complainant approached the court listing out many films like Rathinirvetham, Paleri Manikyam and Kalimannu and a condom brand advertisement alleging clips from these have appeared on social media and pornographic websites.
Martin Menachery filed a complaint against the actress before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on July 31st. The plea stated that no action was taken against the actress despite filing a complaint with the police earlier and so approached the court for action. The court then directed the police to file a case on the complaint. The complainant also alleged that the actress has said in an interview that she is the sexiest woman in the world.
Shwetha earns crores of rupees through videos on pornographic sites. A sex-drug mafia is working behind this with the help of the actress. The complainant's plea also mentioned that he came across such obscene scenes of the actress in the premises of the high court.
