28 Keralites stranded in Uttarakhand flash floods airlifted

UTTARKASHI: Union Minister George Kurien said the Malayalees stranded in the flash floods in Uttarakhand, have been airlifted. He also informed that they have been brought to Uttarkashi. The office of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed the union minister about it.


The relatives of the Malayali group stranded said they were informed of them being airlifted. A total of 335 people were airlifted. Of these, 119 were brought to Dehradun. They were in the Gangotri camp.


Meantime, the search for those missing in the cloudburst and flash floods in Uttarakhand is continuing. It is believed that more than sixty are trapped in the debris. The soil and mud have accumulated at a height of more than sixty feet at the accident site. Cadaver dogs have also been brought to find those trapped underground.
