Chinmayi had once again captured the attention of her fans after her recent song Muththa Mazhai went viral on social media. However, the question arose as to why she is no longer singing in the Tamil film industry. Due to this, the news surrounding her has once again become a topic of conversation.
Chinmayi was a prominent voice in the 'Me Too movement' that shocked the Tamil film industry a few years ago. She had shared a story about an 18-year-old woman who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by lyricist and poet Vairamuthu. Her open admission that she too had been a victim caused a huge controversy.
After this incident, Chinmayi faced opposition from many quarters. She said that the Dubbing Association had banned her, who was not only a singer but also a voice actor. This ban and the lawsuits are still ongoing.
The song 'Muththa Mazhai' sung by Chinmayi at the audio launch of the recently released film 'Thug Life' had received a warm reception from the fans. Due to this, there has been a call on social media to lift the ban imposed on her.
When such discussions are still active on social media, Chinmayi, who was participating in the inauguration of the Iswarya Hospital Unveils Advanced Breast Centre to create awareness among women about early-stage breast cancer, was asked about Vairamuthu by a female reporter.
To this, Chinmayi replied, "Why do you have to ask me about Vairamuthu? Is there no one else in the world you can ask about? It is not your fault. Somebody must have made you ask that question. You want me to get triggered and respond.
You are also a girl, aren't you? Is this question really necessary? You are asking me this rather than the ban I've been facing for 7 years. I have been visiting courts for years. Instead, you are speaking about Vairamuthu."
She reminded the reporter that the matter of her ban from the Dubbing Association is still pending. “Urvashi Amma has talked about the National Award, are you only looking for TRPs without listening to it?” Chinmayi asked angrily. Chinmayi's heated response is rapidly going viral on the internet.
