Only goal in local body elections is victory: Amit Shah at BJP's state leadership meeting held in Kochi

KOCHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah called on BJP workers to work tirelessly for the local body elections in the state and to come out in unity, at the party's state leadership meeting held in Kochi.

"Focus should be at the booth level. We should not waste a single vote in the wards where there is a possibility of winning. Victory is the only goal. Development is the agenda. We should identify the development problems of each ward and go to the people. Rahul Gandhi's allegations of fake votes have become irrelevant."

Amit Shah also put forward a 21-point plan to make the BJP gain in the upcoming local body and assembly elections. More than a hundred people, including state office bearers, former state presidents and district Prabharis, attended the leadership meeting held at Palarivattom Renai Hotel. The state leadership presented the state's work report for the last three months. The state leaders met in a special meeting in the afternoon.

Amit Shah, who arrived at 12.30, interacted with the leaders until 2 pm. State President Rajiv Chandrashekhar presented a picture of the Kochi Lake protest to Amit Shah as a gift. Amit Shah left for Chennai in the evening.

Met Ramachandran's family

Sheela Ramachandran, wife of N Ramachandran of Edappally, who was shot dead by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, and her daughter Aarthi R Menon met Union Minister Amit Shah at the Renai Hotel. BJP state president Rajiv Chandrasekhar was also present. They spoke for about ten minutes. Ramachandran's daughter Aarthi said that Amit Shah assured the family of all support and said that her father's sacrifice was the reason for the central government's stance that there is no peace with terrorism.
