Congress has taken strongest action on Rahul Mamkootathil issue within 24 hours: AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal said that the controversies related to Rahul Mamkootathil MLA are serious. He said that Rahul Mamkootathil resigned from the Youth Congress President's post within 24 hours of the issue and that the other decision will be announced later. K C Venugopal's response was after Rahul Mamkootathil met the media during the controversies.

'This is a very serious issue. The Congress has understood that. The party has taken the strongest action on this issue within 24 hours. Rahul Mamkootathil resigned from the Youth Congress President's post. Everyone knows that some things have come up since then. The top leaders of the party in Kerala are communicating on such matters. The party's decision will be announced soon,' said Venugopal.

Rahul Mamkootathil had said in a press conference that he would not try to put the party in a crisis in any way. Rahul had also shared the details of his chat with his transgender friend Avantika with the media. He added that those who love him still support him. Rahul Mamkootathil did not respond about his resignation from the MLA post.
