KOCHI: The Gastrointestinal Oncology Society (GIOS) is set to host its 2nd Annual Conference from September 12-14, 2025, at Cochin. This year's conference will focus on colorectal cancers (CRC), a disease with a growing global incidence. The event brings together oncologists, gastroenterologists, and other medical professionals to discuss the latest advancements in prevention, screening, and treatment.

The three-day conference happening at Le Meridien Kochi will feature workshops on the surgical, radiation, and genomic aspects of CRC. A highlight will be a special session on non-operative management, featuring renowned national and international faculty.

“The rising incidence of colorectal cancers makes it a critical area of focus for our medical community. Our goal with this conference is to bring together experts to share knowledge and foster a patient-centric approach to care, emphasizing the importance of optimizing patient outcomes and improving quality of life beyond the treatment phase. Close collaboration between specialists is key to achieving this goal,” said Dr. Arun R. Warrier, Organizing Secretary of the GIOS 2025 Annual Conference and Senior Consultant - Medical Oncology at Aster Medcity, Kochi.

The Gastrointestinal Oncology Society is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers through research, education, and collaboration. For conference registration: 85938 35323.
