Assault on Shajan Skaria: Revenge for character assassination, Mathews Kollapally and gang arrested from Bengaluru

THODUPUZHA: Four DYFI activists, accused of attacking journalist Shajan Skaria, were taken into custody by the Thodupuzha police from Bengaluru. Former DYFI office bearer Mathews Kollapally and others have been taken into custody. There is one more accused in the case. On Saturday evening, at around 6:30 pm, Shajan, who had come to attend a wedding, was beaten up by five people in a jeep at Mangattukavala near Thodupuzha.

The accused will be brought to Thodupuzha, and their arrest will be recorded. It is learnt that the accused roughed up Shajan for alleged character assassination in one of his earlier reports. Shajan Skaria said that an attempt was made to kill him and that the CPM local leadership was aware of it.
