PATHANAMTHITTA: A move is being made to organise a Vishwasa Sangamam (faith meet) in Pandalam as an alternative to the government’s Global Ayyappa Summit. The event will be organised by Sabarimala Aikya Samithi and the Hindu Aikya Vedi. According to reports, the organisers are also trying to involve the Pandalam royal family in the meet. Senior BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan will meet representatives of the royal family on Thursday. The Vishwasa Sangamam will be held on September 22.

The organisers are reportedly planning to hold the event on a large scale. They are planning to invite several community organisations, including the Nair Service Society, to the event. They are also exploring the possibility of bringing prominent leaders such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the event. The event will be held with the full support of the BJP. However, Hindu Aikya Vedi representative R.V. Babu said that official details regarding the Vishwasa Sangamam have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, the Global Ayyappa Summit, organised under the leadership of the state government, is scheduled for September 20. The UDF has decided not to participate, stating that the programme has clear political motives and that they do not wish to cooperate with it.
