KOCHI: A special team of the Railway Police will investigate the incident of a luxury bike being driven on platform number two of the Ernakulam North Railway Station. Railway Police Ernakulam DySP George Joseph is in charge of the investigation. Two inspectors and SIs are in the team.

Police have not yet found M.A. Ajmal, a native of Mouloodpura, Mudickal, Perumbavoor, who is wanted in the incident. He is an accused in three drug cases and two assault cases. He has been arrested for possession of MDMA and is currently out on bail.

Ajmal entered the platform with his bike at 4.40 am on Tuesday, just after the Pune-Kanyakumari Express passed by. Many passengers were present on the platform at the time, while another train was entering the station. Ajmal reportedly entered the platform through a small side gate used by passengers on the eastern side of the station.

Although a security guard tried to stop him, he sped ahead. Police officers ran after the bike, but Ajmal abandoned it at the end of the platform after removing the key and fled the spot. He was later identified using the ID documents submitted at the rental firm.
