Strong evidence against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil? Crime Branch team heading to Bengaluru

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Crime Branch is heading to Bengaluru as part of the investigation against the sexual assault case levelled against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. The evidence will be taken on the allegations that MLA coerced one of the women to abort her child. The officials will make the journey to Bengaluru only after Onam.

The investigation team has already identified the hospital in Bengaluru where the woman underwent an abortion. The documents from the hospital will be reviewed by officials in the coming days to verify the accuracy of the claims. It is also understood that attempts may be made to seek information from the victim.

Meanwhile, an FIR was filed in the Crime Branch court alleging that Rahul Mamkootathil forced a woman to have an abortion and threatened her over the phone. The FIR also states that he stalked and harassed women on social media. The FIR was filed in the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
