"No policeman who has beaten up a Congress worker will come out of his house wearing khaki": VD Satheesan visits Youth Congress leader who faced custodial torture

THRISSUR: Opposition leader VD Satheesan visited Youth Congress leader Sujith, who was brutally beaten up at Kunnamkulam police station. The opposition leader responded in extremely strong language after visiting Sujith at his home. "The party is waiting for the government to take action on the matter. No policeman who has beaten up a Congress worker will come out of his house wearing khaki," VD Satheesan said.

VD Satheesan told the media that the current tone of the protest will change, and the Congress party will show a protest Kerala has never witnessed. The Congress move is to use the brutal beating at the police station as a weapon against the state government and the home department. KPCC president Sunny Joseph had said the other day that the Congress would hold a mass protest meeting in front of police stations across Kerala on September 10.

State Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar had come forward to respond to custodial torture. Ravada Chandrasekhar said that custodial beating will not be allowed under any circumstances. "Strict action will be taken in the incident. A proper investigation will be conducted as the footage has come out. Strict action will be taken if there is any lapse," the DGP said.
