Sunday marked the birthday of Malayalam’s own Mammootty. Several prominent personalities extended wishes to the megastar. Now, a heartfelt note shared on social media by actor Chandu Salim Kumar, son of actor Salim Kumar, has become a talking point among film circles and fans.
Chandu began his Facebook post by saying that for anyone, their father or mother would always be their true superheroes. He added that in his life, Mammootty has become such a figure- someone he admired from childhood and who, even after knowing him closely, remained an unbreakable idol.
Chandu's Facebook post:
'For the past few weeks, the question I’ve been asked most is: Who is your superhero? For any person, no matter how big they become, their father or mother will always be their superhero. It’s the same for me too. But in everyone’s life, there will also be another superhero — someone you admired from childhood, who remains an unbreakable idol even when you get to know them.
That person brings changes to your life at different stages. There’s a saying, ‘Do your half, and God will take care of the rest.’ For that ‘rest of the work,’ God sends a few people into our lives. Such a person will always be there for everyone. Even when no one else recognises you, they will. They will speak about you to others. The faith they place in you becomes the confidence that helps you move forward.
The words of such a person have always pushed me ahead in life. At many stages, he has done things for me- sometimes knowingly, sometimes unknowingly. Many might say he has fallen, that he will not rise again. But deep inside, you know he will return. In the film 'Mayavi', there’s a dialogue where Saikumar tells Gopika- ‘Don’t you always say, someone will come like a guardian angel to save you from all dangers? He will come.’
For some, this person may be like God. For some, like a friend. For others, a stranger. In my life, this person is Mammookka. Our Moothon. Wishing you a heartfelt happy birthday, Mammookka. Happy birthday, Moothon,' Chandu wrote.
