Heart airlifted from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi, six to get new lives

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The heart of a 33-year-old youth has been airlifted to Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram. The heart of Issac George of Kollam has been taken to Kochi. The heart is being transplanted to Ajin Eliyas (28) of Angamali, who is under treatment at the Lisie Hospital in Ernakulam. The heart was taken to Thiruvananthapuram Airport in an ambulance from KIMS Hospital in the capital city.


Isaac was brought to KIMS Hospital after seriously injured in an accident that happened while he was crossing the road on September 7. His relatives expressed willingness to donate his organs after efforts failed to save him. He was confirmed brain dead last night. His heart, kidneys, liver and cornea are being donated. The kidneys will be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
