WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump gave word that Israel would not dare to attack Qatar again. Trump, contrary to rumours that Israel had informed the Oval Office of the attack, said he was totally unaware of Israel’s plan in Qatar. The Trump administration said that the information was received after the missile attack, and it was too late to stop anything from happening.

Israel carried out a surprise airstrike on the Hamas headquarters in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on the last day. Six people were reportedly killed in the attack. The attack targeted senior figures, including Khalil al-Hayya, one of Hamas's acting leaders and deputy head of the political bureau. This is the first Israeli attack on Qatar.

Five Hamas members, including Hayya's son Himam and the director of Hayya's office, Jihad Labad, and a member of the Qatari security forces, were killed. Several people were injured. Israel retaliated after Hamas claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in northern Jerusalem. IDF dubbed the attack on Qatar as "Operation Summit of Fire." More than ten Israeli warplanes were involved in the mission. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz supervised the mission. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed full responsibility for the Doha attack.
