GANDHINAGAR: Liquor, condoms and other items were found from the bags of students of various schools in Gujarat. The shocking information surfaced soon after the murder of a Class 10 student of Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad. The authorities of the school had taken various steps to monitor students of various schools in the state after his death.
As part of it, the teachers decided to examine the bags of students. Cigarette packets, vapes, liquor, condoms and blades were recovered from their bags. When informed the students’ parents about it, their responses were unexpected. Their response was that they could not pay attention to their children and that all this was part of the children growing up.
One of the principals while talking to a national media, said they will soon arrange a meeting between teachers and parents. Only their bags were checked as a first step. More are to be conducted over their character development. This is leading to a severe crisis. Teachers also said that they are concerned about such practices of children.
Meantime, senior psychologist Dr Prashant Bhimani responded to this issue. The influence of peers and social media can affect the behavior of children. If a child brings any object to school, it will attract others. Movies and web series containing violent content can also contribute to the formation of violent behavior in children, said Bhimani.
