NEW DELHI: An Afghan boy landed in India by hiding in the landing gear compartment of an aircraft that took off from Kabul. A 13-year-old Afghan boy reached Delhi after an adventurous journey on KAM Air Flight RQ-4401 from Kabul. The incident happened at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday morning. The boy hails from Kunduz in northern Afghanistan.
The boy entered the restricted area of the Kabul airport and hid inside the central landing gear compartment at the rear of the plane. The plane, which took off from Kabul, landed in Delhi at around 11 am after a two-hour journey. The CISF officials took the boy into custody after seeing him wandering around the airport. Since he is a minor, a case may not be filed against him.
The boy told the authorities that he boarded the plane out of curiosity. The officials said the boy was sent back to Afghanistan on the same flight that took off from Delhi at 12:30 pm on Sunday. Prior to this, security officials of KAM Airlines conducted a detailed check in the landing gear compartment. A small red audio speaker believed to belong to the boy was found. After an examination, the flight was found to be safe, and the journey continued.
