‘Those who made corpses vote for election win now serving you’; Suresh Gopi’s remarks draw flak

IDUKKI: Union Minister Suresh Gopi stepped forward with an insulting remark over the Thrissur vote controversy. Suresh Gopi said people serving you are ones who made bodies buried 25 years ago cast votes, and they are blaming him. Suresh Gopi's insulting remark was during the Kalungu friendly debate organized at Moolamattam in Idukki. The minister has drawn flak from all corners.

'I did not win after contesting in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad, where BJP has influence. If I was able to win from Thrissur, where it is said that influence will not be born anymore, it is because God is with me. What all stories are being concocted. Messing up Pooram, messing up Chembu, Gopi Asan and RLV. After all this, messing up votes. People who won with the help of votes of corpses are serving you now,’ said Suresh Gopi.

Suresh Gopi also responded to the AIIMS controversy. 'Thrissur deserves an AIIMS. There is no use buying land anywhere. It should be set up in Thrissur if the entire state has to benefit from it. This has been my stand since 2015. I have not said that either AIIMS in Alappuzha or else in Tamil Nadu. If proven, I will quit my job. I don't know why the government is so stubborn that AIIMS won’t be set up in Thrissur,' clarified Suresh Gopi.
