‘Most important is to gain knowledge, this is the beginning of it'; Opposition leader initiates children into world of letters

KOCHI: Opposition leader V D Satheesan initiated kids into the world of letters at his house in Paravur on Vijayadasami day marking the end of the annual nine-day long Navaratri festival in Kerala on Thursday. He initiated children including the son of youth congress state secretary’s son from Kozhikode, into the world of letters.

'This has been done for years as children come. It is time for them to start learning the first letter of knowledge. Children live in a world where knowledge is exploding. Most important thing is to gain knowledge. It marks the beginning of gaining that knowledge. By performing Saraswati Puja, with the blessings of Saraswati, the children are beginning to gain knowledge, wishing them good luck, to speak well and to think well. It is the beginning of life. It is a joy to do this by blessing children and praying for them. I love children very much,' said the opposition leader.

Meantime, a heavy rush is witnessed in temples on the occasion of Vijayadashami. The rush has started since early this morning. Many people are coming to temples to initiate their children into the world of letters.
