Sexually abused and impregnated 14-year-old girl by pretending to be in love with her; private bus driver arrested in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: A youth has been arrested for abducting a 14-year-old girl and sexually abusing her. The arrested youth has been identified as Nooranad native Ranjumon (35).

According to the Nooranad police, the accused, who worked as a private bus driver on the Padanilam route, lured the student by pretending to be in love with her. He then abducted and sexually abused the girl.

The girl’s parents filed a missing complaint at the Nooranad Police Station after she failed to return home from school. During the investigation, police discovered that the girl had been sexually abused and was pregnant. It was also found that Ranjumon had tried to force her to undergo an abortion.

Ranjumon was arrested by a police team led by Inspector S. Sreekumar, Sub-Inspector Mithun, and senior CPOs Rajeesh and Siju, along with Civil Police Officers Manukumar and Vimal. He was later produced before the Mavelikkara court and remanded.
