KOZHIKODE: The MSF (Muslim Students Federation) staged a demonstration in Muttil with slogans insulting Congress leaders, in connection with the Calicut University Union elections. The demonstration took place after the MSF won the election at WMO College, Muttil, during which the group shouted harsh slogans against Congress leaders.

A poster displayed during the demonstration carried the message:

'The fort’s secure. Mr. Siddique, Mr. IC, if you can't control the KSU kids, you can forget about going to the Assembly.'

The poster also featured photos of the two Congress leaders. The slogans used were extremely aggressive, and notably, no IUML (Indian Union Muslim League) leaders tried to stop them.

Reports suggest that the lack of cooperation from the KSU during the elections led to the absence of a UDF alliance in many colleges, which may have triggered the anger. This year, KSU performed better than in previous years, and in recent times, the organisation has been strengthening its presence across several campuses in Wayanad. The MSF protest is believed to have been a reaction to that growing influence.
