Unnikrishnan Potty in custody till Oct 30, court proceedings in closed room

RANNI: The court sent Unnikrishnan Potty, arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case, in police custody till October 30. He will be in custody for 14 days till October 30. The court proceedings were held secretly. Only the defense lawyer, public prosecutor, investigating officer and the accused were in the courtroom.

He is likely to be taken to one of the camps in Pathanamthitta and questioned. The investigation team will move on to matters including evidence collection after that. In the meantime, permission was given to him to speak to his lawyer for ten minutes in the court.

Unnikrishnan Potty was arrested in two cases presently. Unnikrishnan Potty will be taken to places including Hyderabad for evidence collection. The things stolen have not been recovered so far. It has to be found who are all behind Unnikrishnan Potty. The high court has given six weeks to the Special Investigation Team.

Unnikrishnan Potty's statement to the investigation team is that there is a major conspiracy behind the gold theft. He has also given a statement against devaswom officials. He said that Kalpesh was brought as part of the conspiracy. It is hinted that the investigating officers have got information about Kalpesh.
