AHMEDABAD: The new Deputy Chief Minister and ministers were sworn in as part of the cabinet expansion in Gujarat. Former Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi is the new Deputy Chief Minister. Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wife and MLA from Jamnagar North constituency Rivaba Jadeja is also in the new cabinet. The Governor administered the oath to the ministers at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
There are 19 new faces in the cabinet. Including them and the Chief Minister, there are a total of 26 ministers. 16 ministers had resigned as per the party's instructions. The resignations were made by all except Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi is an MLA from Majura. Hrishikesh Patel, Praful Pansheria, Kunwarji Bhawalia, Kanubhai Desai and Parshottam Solanki from the previous cabinet are members of this cabinet as well. Their portfolios did not change. The new faces are Trikam Chhang, Swarupji Thakor, Praveen Mali, PC Baranda, Darshana Vaghela, Kantilal Amritia, Rivaba Jadeja, Arjunbhai Modhwadia, Pradyumna Vaja, Kaushik Vekaria, Jitendrabhai Vaghani, Ramanbhai Solanki, Kamleshbhai Patel, Sanjay Singh Mahida, Rameshbhai Katara, Manisha Vakil, Ishwar Singh Patel, Jairambhai Gamit and Naresh Patel
