"I got one more person to kill": Throat slit using grass cutter machine; motive in Praveen murder case unclear

MANJERI (MALAPPURAM): A man was killed by slitting his throat using a grass cutter machine. The police caught the accused at his house after the incident. The murdered has been identified as Praveen (35), son of Neelandan, a native of Chathangottupuram, Wandoor Porur. Moideenkutty (35), a native of Charankavu, was arrested. The incident took place near Charankavu town at 7 am yesterday.

The accused attacked Praveen when he arrived on a bike to his friend Surendran, who was waiting for him near a temporary shed near Charankavu market with a grass cutter machine. The accused, who arrived there, asked Surendran, who was waiting for Praveen, for the grass cutter machine. He said that he was going to cut the shrubbery near the shed and that he would return it immediately. That's when Praveen arrived there on a bike. The accused used the machine to slit Praveen's throat while Praveen was talking to Surendran. The accused immediately escaped from there, saying that he had someone else to kill.

Reason unclear

The accused committed the crime without any provocation. It is not yet clear what the motive was behind the murder. The police said that the accused needs to be questioned further.
