KOCHI: The Railway Board has given approval for the construction of the Nedumbassery Airport Railway Station. It was Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw who informed Union Minister George Kurian about the decision.

The new station will be built near the airport, between Angamaly and Chovvara, and will be designed to provide maximum convenience to air passengers. With the Board granting approval, the construction work is likely to begin soon.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had personally shown officials the proposed location of the railway station during a window-trailing inspection last year. George Kurian had also accompanied him during the inspection.
