CHENNAI: Actress Narvini Dery has come forward with sexual harassment allegations against actor Ajmal Ameer. Narvini has revealed that the actor misbehaved with her in 2018 by calling her on the pretext of an audition. Narvini is notable for her films 'Sinamkol' and 'Uyirvarai Iniththaai'.

Narvini Dery made the revelation in an interview with the Tamil YouTube channel Trend Talks. Narvini met Ajmal at a mall in Chennai during the shooting of another film. Ajmal exchanged contact details with Narvini, saying that he was looking for a heroine for his next film.

Narvini, who was preparing to go to Denmark, was invited by Ajmal for an audition. However, the audition venue was at a little-known hotel. When she reached there, none of the team members were there. Narvini says that she felt something was wrong when Ajmal insisted, 'They are out, come inside.'

Narvini revealed that Ajmal played music when she stepped inside the room, grabbed her hand and asked her to dance. "Do you know how handsome I am? How many girls are looking for me," Ajmal said, the actress disclosed.

Narvini also alleged that the actor tried to hug her when she did not give in. Meanwhile, Ajmal got a call, and Narvini booked a cab during this chance. Narvini recalled her memory that she ran away from Ajmal when he opened the door as the room boy rang the bell.

The actress added that Ajmal continued to send her messages and respond to her social media posts even after the incident. Narvini also said that she was reluctant to file a police complaint at that time because she was afraid that it would affect her studies and future career.

Narvini's comments have now become a hot topic in Kollywood as she said that Ajmal had harassed many girls like this. Actor Ajmal Amir has not yet responded to the actress's allegations.
