Wall collapses in Kakkodi, Kozhikode: Tragic death for construction worker

KOZHIKODE: A construction worker, who suffered grave injuries after a wall fell on him in Kakkodi, died on Saturday. Uday Manji, a native of Odisha, died in the incident. The workers were at the place to construct a perimeter wall, but tragedy struck after a wall of the nearby house collapsed on them.

Uday Manji was trapped under the wall for about half an hour. Another worker who was with him escaped with injuries. Rescue operations were carried out by locals, but the worker could not be pulled out. The Vellimadukunnu Fire Force was then informed of the incident.

The fire force arrived and pulled out the worker and took him to Kozhikode Medical College, but he was declared as brought dead. The body has now been shifted to a morgue.
