Dumbbell murder at Data Digital Bank: Attack over not switching off lights in office

BENGALURU: A man beat his colleague to death with a dumbbell for not switching off the lights in a rented office. The deceased is Bheemesh Babu (41), a native of Chitradurdagga. The murder took place at around 1.30 am today at the office of a company called Data Digital Bank in Bengaluru, which is involved in storing movie shooting videos on a day-to-day basis. The murder was committed by Somala Vamshi (24), a native of Vijayawada.

The two, who stayed at the office during the night, had an argument over switching off the lights. An angry Vamshi hit his colleague Bheemesh on the forehead with a dumbbell. Bheemesh was seriously injured and died on the spot.

After committing the crime, the accused, Somala Vamshi, went to the police station and surrendered. The police said that a case of murder has been registered against Vamshi and an arrest has been made. The police said that further investigation is underway in the incident.
