A recent video of comedian Ullas Pandalam struggling to walk to the stage after suffering from an ailment was viral on social media. The video showed Ullas walking with the help of a cane. The actor also showed signs of facial palsy, and his ordeal was a topic of discussion on social media for so long. It was then found that Ullas suffered from a stroke, which led to his health deteriorating.
Popular director Akhil Marar recently visited the actor at his house. Akhil requested netizens to avoid ludicrous comments under the photo shared on social media.
AKHIL MARAR:
We first met in 2013 when he came to dub a skit in a show I directed for the anniversary of the Gokulam Staff Association at Gokulam Grande in Kochi. Later, we would call occasionally. The last time we met was during a preview show of a movie last year.
It was sad to see an artist who made us laugh on stage going through such a difficult phase... Every artist is a fighter who will make the audience laugh, even if it requires shrouding his pain. May Ullasettan recover from his illness as soon as possible...All prayers.
I would request people not to criticise me, saying that I posted this photo on social media to gain traffic. I just wanted people to remember this amazing artist who turned many of our dull moments into laughter and joy.
NB: This is regarding the queries asking me about 'what I did for Ullas during his tough times'. Only Ullas and I know about that, and let it remain within ourselves.
