Sanju not included in playing XI, India beat Australia by 48 runs, go 2-1 up in T20I series

QUEENSLAND: India took the lead in the ongoing T20I series against Australia by defeating the hosts by 48 runs in the fourth match of the series. With this win, India has moved ahead 2–1 in the five-match series. Batting first, India scored 167/8 in 20 overs. Australia’s chase ended at just 119 runs in 18.2 overs. Indian all-rounder Axar Patel, who performed well with both bat and ball, was named Player of the Match.

For India, openers Abhishek Sharma scored 28 (21) and Shubman Gill made 46 (39). Coming in at No. 3, Shivam Dube scored 22 (18), captain Suryakumar Yadav 20 (10), Tilak Varma 5 (6), and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma 3 (4). Malayali player Sanju Samson was not included in the playing XI again; Jitesh Sharma was given the chance instead.

Washington Sundar scored 12 (7), and Axar Patel remained unbeaten with 21* (11), helping India cross 150. Arshdeep Singh was out for a duck, while Varun Chakravarthy remained not out on 1. For Australia, Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis took three wickets each. Xavier Bartlett and Marcus Stoinis picked up one wicket each.
