KANPUR: In a shocking incident, a woman bit off a portion of her ex-boyfriend’s tongue after he allegedly tried to forcefully kiss her. The incident took place in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The man, who had been repeatedly harassing the woman, tried to kiss her against her will, and she bit his tongue in self-defence.
The injured man, 35-year-old Champi, suffered serious damage to his tongue. Though he was married, he had been in a relationship with the woman earlier. Later, the woman ended the relationship. With her family’s approval, her marriage had been fixed with another man. After the engagement, she cut off all communication with Champi. However, he refused to accept her decision and continued to harass her.
On the day of the incident, the woman had gone alone to a pond near her house. Champi followed her there. According to the police, he then attempted to sexually assault her, during which the woman bit his tongue. The force of the bite caused a part of his tongue to be severed.
Upon hearing Champi’s screams, locals rushed to the spot and informed the woman’s family. He was then taken to a community health centre and given first aid. Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Kanpur for specialised treatment. Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Tripathi said a case has been registered against the man.
