CHENNAI: Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay made his first public appearance after the Karur tragedy. He attended a TVK meeting held at the Jaypee Tech Institute in Kanchipuram. Speaking at the meeting, Vijay said that he entered politics with the intention of doing good for everyone. He pointed that the DMK's aim is not so good.

‘They say that our party has no goal, however their party's goal is looting. I joined the party with the determination of justice to everyone. Everyone has seen our stand on equality and education. Like you, I hid my stance not only in words. We know what is happening in your party now. You are acting like good people. We didn’t start criticizing and before that, you are scared.

People are always important to me. I have come here to talk about their problems. The people are now looting the Palar River in Kanchipuram. I have proof of that. 22,70000 units of sand have been looted from this river. They have earned Rs 4,730 crore in this way. The proof of this has been submitted to the court. If the sand is taken, the river will be destroyed. If the river is destroyed, agriculture will be destroyed. This will destroy us. The silk of Kanchipuram is very famous in the world, but people engaged in it are starving,' said Vijay.
