Clinical and undaunted! Know more about investigative officer who arrested Dileep

KOCHI: It was the deft moves made by investigation officer Baiju Paulose that unearthed the conspiracy in the actress assault case. Baiju’s investigation was clinical in a way that all six accused, including Pulsar Suni, had no other option left but to languish in jail for the crime committed. However, the prosecution's failure to present evidence of the conspiracy tarnished the reputation of one of the able officers currently in the Kerala Police.

It was Baiju’s investigation that made the accused first reveal the quotation deal associated with the actress assault case.

In 2017, Baiju was appointed as the investigating officer of the case while he was the Perumbavoor CI. Baiju selected his own team of loyal SIs and constables whom he had met during his service. Thereafter, every move was swift, giving no time for the accused to plan escape. The accused were picked up one by one. The investigation team under Baiju was strong enough to take the first accused, Pulsar Suni, into custody from the court, while he came to surrender. It was the written messages and phone calls made by Suni from jail that led Baiju to question Dileep.

Baiju Paulose gained more attention across Kerala after he took up the nerve to arrest Dileep. Baiju is also the recipient of the Chief Minister's Police Medal. He is currently a DySP in the Anti-Terrorism Squad. Dileep is the prime accused in the case of conspiring to assassinate officers, including Baiju Paulose.
