Congress's house for Wayanad disaster victims: Registration will be completed this month, says T Siddique MLA

KALPETTA: T. Siddique MLA has announced that the registration of the land for building houses for Wayanad disaster victims will be completed this month. He said that the advance payment for the land has already been made. The Congress party aims to begin construction on December 28, the party’s foundation day. The list of beneficiaries is currently being prepared. Siddique added that the land purchased by the Congress is not plantation land and that the party has verified this.

The announcement comes on the eve of the second phase of the elections. "The government has backed out of its earlier announcement that all people in the three wards would be included. However, the Congress is considering including disaster-affected families who were left out of the government’s list," Siddique said.

He added that the CPM is trying to divert attention from the Brahmagiri and Sabarimala issues. “While the state leadership is involved in the Sabarimala scam, the district committee is looting Brahmagiri,” Siddique alleged.
