105 years old's death within hours after last vote; Saraswathiamma's death after casting vote in elections where her grandson is a candidate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Saraswathiamma, who was 105 years old, passed away hours after casting her vote in the elections in which her daughter's son was a candidate. She is the grandmother of Sunil, the BJP candidate from Charuvilakkam ward of the Kollayil Grama Panchayat. The death was confirmed at 10 pm on Tuesday. Her husband is the late M. Gangadharan Nair from Manchavilakam.

Saraswathiamma cast her vote at 3.30 pm on Tuesday, the election day, despite her infirmities of old age, after reaching booth number 1 at Dhanuvachapuram Girls High School by car.

Children: Late S Shaileshwari Amma, Bhishaksenan Nair, S Prasannakumari, G Mohanakumaran Nair.

In-laws: Late Sreedharan Nair, K Shyamala, Late N Velayudhan Pillai, S Radha.
