THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V. Sivankutty said that KPCC president Sunny Joseph’s statement claiming that the complaint against former Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkoottathil was part of a planned move is ridiculous and misleading to the public. Saying that a “legal brain” or a conspiracy is behind the complaint is just an attempt to whitewash the allegations, he added.

He said that everyone is equal before the law. When a complaint is received, it is the responsibility of officials and the concerned departments to investigate it. Portraying this as a conspiracy is a challenge to the rule of law.

The minister questioned why the KPCC is afraid of those who filed the complaint and the legal process behind it. If they believe they are correct, they should be able to face any “legal brain,” he said. The government’s duty is to ensure transparency. This government does not take action based on political interests. Whoever is guilty will face consequences. He added that the KPCC president’s attempt to create confusion and divert attention from the real issue will be clearly understood by the public.
