'Touched me in wrong way, acted as replacement for Dileep in that movie'; what happened to Vijeesh Vijayan after weight loss?

Vijeesh Vijayan is an actor who became familiar to Malayalis through his comedy roles in the early days. Vijeesh debuted in the 2002 film Nammal directed by Kamal, which featured a group of newcomers in the lead roles. Vijeesh played the comedy role of Jojo Thomas alias Noolunda in the film. After that, Vijeesh also played lead roles in films like Swapnakkoodu, Chakram, and Naran. However, Vijeesh's role in Classmates, released in 2006, surprised Malayalis. Vijeesh became more active in films through Classmates, where he shocked everyone with his weight loss. Now, the actor has opened up about his weight loss in an interview.

'I acted in director Lohithadas's Chakram. Prithviraj was the lead in it. Mohanlal and Dileep were initially cast in that film. The shooting went on for 22 days but was dropped halfway. Prithviraj and I were cast later. I played the role that Dileep ettan played in the version with Mohanlal.

"I was very fat when I acted in the films Nammal, Swapnakoodu and Chakram. At that time, I only got small comedy roles. It is called body shaming now. We can enjoy all that to a certain extent. After that, it becomes a problem. That is how I decided to lose weight.

"I did all that in the hope that good roles would come to me. As I lost weight, opportunities decreased. When I was fat, I had some troubles. At that time, some people came up to me and harassed me for no reason. Being fat didn't bother me at all. It was the people who saw me who had trouble. Some people have also touched me badly. They have touched me in the wrong way. The only thing that will remain in our lives is our bodies. We need to understand that. Even when I lost weight, some people made fun of me. Some even asked if I had AIDS," said Vijeesh.
