THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The victory of UDF in the local body election is the gift of the people, said KPCC president Sunny Joseph. He also said that it was the UDF that brought the Sabarimala gold theft to the public. He added that the entry of former Nilambur MLA P V Anvar would happen soon. He clarified these at Delhi on Sunday while talking to the media.
‘Kerala Congress should decide whether to return to the UDF. The long-delayed entry of former MLA P V Anvar will not be delayed further. He has offered his support to UDF. Discussions have been done. The foundation must be developed. The preparations for the local body election had started long before. Meetings were conducted at Bathery in 2024 after the victory in the parliament election under the chairmanship of the then KPCC president K Sudhakaran. Mission 2025 was announced on the basis of that.

Following that, the ward committees were strengthened. Mahatma family reunions are conducted. Meetings were conducted in all districts against the anti-people stands of the government. Discussions were conducted on price hike, unemployment, the issues of Asha workers, issues at the line and human-animal conflicts. Wards were provided the opportunity to decide on the candidates. This victory has emerged from the unified efforts of all. We are also grateful to AICC for the special interest and support towards Kerala.

Will meet and convey gratitude to Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi today. This is the victory brought by the people. The government has divided the wards in a distorted manner. Undeserving people were added to the voters' list. Nothing happened even though UDF pointed out all these. Never in the history of Sabarimala has a gold theft ever happened. I was the first to say that the thieves were on the ship itself. That has become clear. However, the captains have not been found yet. The High Court itself said that. We have intervened well in this matter’- said Sunny Joseph.
