Government to begin land acquisition for semi-high speed railway

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Latest reports suggest that the authorities have begun procedures regarding the acquisition of land in 11 districts for the prestigious semi-high speed railway project. The project, which only requires an acquisition of 100-metre width throughout the state, has already acquired clearance from the navy, air force, army and intelligence.

It is learnt that the Central government will soon give clearance for the sky survey of the project. The survey will be conducted by Hyderabad based Giano company which has conducted the survey of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. The project will be looked after by KRDCL. The project, which will get completed by 2024, is expected to provide over 50000 job opportunities.
