
PUNE: Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been admitted to the hospital after an illness. Jaiswal, who participated in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, was admitted to the Aditya Birla Hospital in Pune after the match. Jaiswal, who opened for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Rajasthan and Mumbai held in Pune yesterday, had a stomach ache. Jaiswal was dismissed after scoring 16 runs in 15 balls. He was taken to the hospital after the match and underwent an ultrasound and CT scan. It was confirmed that the player has intestinal inflammation.
The doctors have prescribed medication and rest for the player who was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. Although Jaiswal could not shine, Mumbai defeated Rajasthan in the match. Mumbai surpassed the target of 217 runs set by Rajasthan for the loss of seven wickets. Mumbai were helped by the innings of veteran Ajinkya Rahane (72 not out off 41 balls) and the fiery Sarfaraz Khan (73 off 22 balls). Sarfaraz was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock, which included seven sixes and six fours.
