
KOCHI: An Air India Express flight made an emergency landing at the Nedumbassery airport. The IX 398 flight, which was en route from Jeddah to Karipur made an emergency landing due to a technical snag. The landing gear of the aircraft was damaged and failure of two tyres. The pilot, who understood the information, requested an emergency landing and diverted to Nedumbassery.
“Our Jeddah-Kozhikode flight was diverted to Kochi and made a precautionary landing due to suspected damage to the aircraft’s tyre likely caused by a foreign object on the runway at Jeddah airport.
The aircraft landed safely in Kochi, and all guests are being connected to Kozhikode by road. We regret the inconvenience caused and reiterate that safety remains our highest priority in every aspect of our operations,” said the spokesperson of Air India Express.
