
MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth crores of rupees belonging to several Bollywood stars, including cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa, in a money laundering case related to online betting. The ED has attached the assets of prominent figures including Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Urvashi Rautela, Sonu Sood, Mimi Chakraborty, Ankush Hazara and Neha Sharma. The ED action against the cricketers and Bollywood stars is in a case related to 1xBet online betting app, on a complaint that crores of rupees were illegally embezzled.
A total of Rs 7.93 crore worth of assets were seized from Yuvraj Singh (Rs 2.5 crore), Robin Uthappa (Rs 8.26 lakh), Urvashi Rautela (Rs 2.02 crore), Sonu Sood (Rs 1 crore), Mimi Chakraborty (Rs 59 lakh), Ankush Hazra (Rs 47.40 lakh), and Neha Sharma (Rs 1.26 crore). The ED had earlier attached assets worth Rs 4.55 crore of Shikhar Dhawan and Rs 6.64 crore of Suresh Raina in this case. So far, the ED has attached assets worth Rs 19.07 crore in this case.
The ED investigation is related to illegal betting apps that are alleged to have defrauded individuals and investors of crores of rupees or engaged in large-scale tax evasion.
