MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi's car was hit by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver. The accident occurred around 4 pm yesterday while she was en route to participate in the Sunburn Festival in Mumbai. The actress escaped unhurt.
The car that went out of control hit Nora's Mercedes-Benz. After the accident, the actress was admitted to a nearby hospital for primary treatment. Doctors said that the star's health condition was satisfactory and there were no injuries. After treatment, the star performed at the Sunburn Festival as scheduled.
The police found that the driver who caused the accident was drunk. The Mumbai police have registered a case against him for reckless driving and have taken him into custody. The Sunburn Music Festival, which is usually held in Goa, was held in Mumbai this time. The three-day event, which began on December 19, will conclude today. The festival, which began in Goa in 2007, was shifted to Mumbai this time due to various reasons.
Nora Fatehi later said in a video posted on social media that the accident was horrific.
“Hey guys, I’m just coming here to tell you that I am okay. Yes, I was in a really serious car accident today in the afternoon. A drunk person driving under the influence smashed my car, and unfortunately, the impact was quite severe and it flung me across the car. I bashed my head on the window.”
“I’m alive and I’m well. Except for some minor injuries, swelling, and a slight concussion, I’m okay. I’m grateful for that. That could have ended terribly, but I came here to say that this is why you should not drink and drive. I hate alcohol to begin with,” Nora added.
The 33-year-old Canadian dancer didn’t hold back her thoughts about dangerous driving. “In fact, I am not someone who has ever liked the idea of alcohol or anything like drugs, weed, or anything that puts you in a different state of mind… It is not something I promote or even enjoy being around. You should not drink and drive. It’s 2025. I cannot believe that this is even a conversation," she added.
