Attempted to sexually abuse differently-abled minor girl at hospital; police register case against security employee

KANNUR: Police have registered a case against a security staff member for allegedly attempting to sexually abuse a differently-abled minor girl who arrived at the Thaliparamba Taluk Government Hospital. The accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a native of Payyavoor. He is a security employee and a former serviceman.

The incident related to the case took place on December 22. The minor girl had come to the hospital with her mother for counselling. While the mother entered the counselling room, the security staff member allegedly behaved inappropriately with the girl. The girl later revealed the incident during counselling. Following this, a complaint was filed with the police. Pradeep Kumar has been absconding since the 23rd. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
