Major reshuffle in top brass of Kerala Police; Sparjan Kumar appointed as South Zone IG, Ajitha Begum to become Crime Branch IG

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has made significant changes in the top brass of the state police. Changes have been made at the IG and DIG levels.

R Nishanthini, Ajitha Begum, Satheesh Bino, Putta Vimaladitya and Rahul R Nair have been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG). R Nishanthini has been appointed as IG at the Police Headquarters. Ajitha Begum will serve as IG of the Crime Branch, while Satheesh Bino has been posted as IG of the Armed Police Battalion. Putta Vimaladitya, who was promoted as IG of Kochi, has been posted to Intelligence. Present IG Shyam Sundar has also been transferred to Intelligence.

Sparjan Kumar has been appointed as IG of the South Zone. Thiruvananthapuram Commissioner Thomson Jose will take charge as Vigilance DIG. K Karthik has been appointed as the new Thiruvananthapuram Commissioner. Harishankar has been posted as Kochi Commissioner and Ernakulam Range DIG. Dr Arul B Krishna has been appointed as IG of the Thrissur Range.
