Went to bathe in river; five including mother and three children taken by current; tragic death for Thiruvananthapuram native and son at Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A mother and son drowned while bathing in the river. The accident occurred at around 5 pm today in Padinhattummuri, Malappuram. The deceased are Sibina (32), a native of Thiruvananthapuram and a resident of Padinhattummuri, and her son Muhammed Siyaan (10).

The accident occurred at Panambatta Kadavu in Padinhattummuri. Five people, including Sibina, her three children and a relative, had gone to bathe in the river. All five people were involved in the accident. The locals came and rescued three of them. By then, Sibina and her son Siyaan had drowned in the river. Sibina and her son were taken out and taken to the hospital, but they could not be saved. The bodies of both were sent to the Manjeri Govt. Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
