Human sacrifice to amass money; Couple held for trying to kill eight-month-old baby

BENGALURU: It is reported that a couple tried to sacrifice an eight-month-old baby boy for money. The incident happened in Hoskote, a rural area of Bengaluru. While the ritual was going on, officials of the Child Welfare Committee reached the spot and rescued the baby.

The incident happened at the house of Syed Imran in Janatha Colony yesterday, which was the day of Pournami. The couple has been taken into custody. The baby was bought for the sacrifice. After the neighbors informed, members of the Child Welfare Committee came and rescued him. When the officials arrived, a sacrificial bed was also arranged in the house. The Sulibele police have started an investigation into the incident.
