KOLLAM: Even though his teenage dream took some time to materialise, Jayaprakash is now content. The years of waiting finally paid off as 65-year-old Jayaprakash married his teenage love interest, Rashmi, last Sunday. The children and sons-in-law of the couple conducted the marriage.

Mundakkal native Jayaprakash developed feelings for Rashmi in his youth but was afraid to confess them. In the meantime, Rashmi got married while Jayaprakash went abroad with a new job. He also eventually married. They both led a happy family life, but death took away Rashmi's life partner ten years ago and Jayaprakash's partner five years ago.

To come out of the pain of losing her husband, Rashmi got involved in cultural events and started appearing in acting roles in short films. At the insistence of her children, Jayaprakash started planning for remarriage. In the meantime, Jayaprakash watched a short film in which Rashmi acted. He wasted no time securing Rashmi's daughter's phone number from the director of the short film. Very soon, the old relationship was rekindled, and he proposed marriage. After asking for the opinion of her daughter and son-in-law, Rashmi agreed to the marriage.

The modest wedding took place in Kochi last Sunday. The wedding picture of Jayaprakash and Rashmi, shared by Rashmi's daughter with a touching note, "Which children will get this luck?", went viral on social media.
