Bollywood star Sana Khan announced her retirement from the film industry while at the peak of her career. It was in 2020 that Sana called it a day in her career. She reasoned that the decision for her marriage was a result of her newfound love for spirituality. Sana is married to religious cleric Mufti Anas Syed.
Now, the actress appeared in an interview to discuss her married life and what prompted her to leave the movies. In an interview with actress Rashami Desai, Sana said that her quest for peace and spirituality made her quit movies, and her husband helped her find solace.
Sana Khan:
“Our marriage was a secret. It was something only my parents knew about. No one even knew the groom's name. While I was applying henna on my hands, the mehndi artist asked me for the groom's name. I told them that I would write the groom's name later. By the time of my marriage, I was a changed person. No one brainwashed me. I wanted peace.
Name, fame, money and glory need not bring you inner peace. Some say that my surroundings influenced the decision. Time made me realise many things in life. My relationship with my husband is valuable. I still tell him that I would not have got a better husband than him. To get married was a difficult decision, but it changed my life for good.”
