KANNUR: A woman from Kannur has filed a complaint against Shimjitha Mustafa, the accused in the case of Deepak's suicide. The girl who filed the complaint was on the bus when Shimjitha filmed the video. The complaint with the Kannur police states that her face was unnecessarily filmed and circulated on social media. The woman alleged in her complaint that her privacy was violated. She has also demanded that her visuals be removed from the video immediately.

Deepak's family has filed an RTI application with the police to know the details of this new complaint received against Shimjitha. This new complaint increases the seriousness of the case in the context of the protests against Shimjitha in connection with Deepak's death. The police will take further action after seeking legal advice on the matter.

The Kundamangalam court will pronounce its verdict on Shimjitha's bail application on the 27th of this month. Advocate TP Junaid argued that Shimjitha is innocent. Advocate KP Rajagopalan, appearing for the plaintiff, argued that it was a deliberate act.

Meanwhile, Rajagopalan said that the bail application falls within the jurisdiction of the sessions court. However, TP Junaid clarified that there is no situation where the bail application should not be considered in the lower court just because the trial is in the sessions court.
