A Hindi serial is now the talk of the town for all odd reasons. Criticism grew after the serial included intimacy scenes of an actress who was only 16. ‘Rimjhim - Choti Umar Bada Safar’, the serial aired on Dangal TV, got caught in the controversy. Actor Himanshu Awasthi has also been criticised for acting in intimate scenes with a minor actress, Yashika Sharma, in the serial. The plot revolves around a love affair between a teen and an adult.

Yashika Sharma is 16-year-old while Himanshu Awasthi is 24. The cast of the serial is facing a lot of criticism for the on-screen intimacy scenes between a minor heroine and an adult actor. There are also allegations that the serial production house is not following the laws or broadcasting rules of the country. It has been suggested that strict conditions should be followed while casting child actors and minor actresses. Many questioned the motive behind casting such a minor actress to play the lead role. The criticism intensified after video clips of the serial went viral on social media. A few others raised the need to introduce censorship in serials, as it is mostly viewed by families.
